Bills Help Out Run Defense with Signing of DT Corey Liuget

The Bills added some beef to their a run defense that has had issues as of late, as Tuesday the team inked former Oakland Raiders defensive tackle Corey Liuget.

Liuget inks a one-year deal, hoping that he can help a line that has had a couple of roster moves just in the last week.

The Bills released defensive tackle Kyle Peko Saturday before calling up Vincent Taylor from the practice squad.

The team replaced rookie first-round pick Ed Oliver with Jordan Phillips in their starting lineup. They then brought Liuget in for a workout Monday, and agreed to terms today.

Liuget was a first-round pick of the Chargers back in 2011, and he was known mostly for his pass rush in the team’s 3-4 defense.

He put up 24 sacks in seven seasons, and then inked with the Raiders this past offseason to play defensive tackle in the team’s 4-3.

Liuget was let go by Oakland on October 30th after playing in just three games with 46 combined snaps.

The Bills will be back on the practice field Wednesday and will play in Cleveland Sunday against the 2-6 Browns.
