Bills QB Josh Allen “Week-to-Week” with Elbow Injury

Bills head coach Sean McDermott said Monday that rookie quarterback Josh Allen was “week-to-week” with an elbow injury and was noncommittal as to whether Allen would start in Week 7 against the Indianapolis Colts according to Mike Rodak of ESPN.

Allen took a big hit to his elbow when was sandwiched between two defenders as he delivered a deep pass to Kelvin Benjamin in the third quarter. He stayed in for another play, but he grabbed his throwing arm after that throw and headed to the sideline. Allen was replaced by Nathan Peterman, who threw a touchdown pass in the fourth quarter that put the Bills up 13-10 in the fourth quarter but then threw an interception in overtime that the Texans returned for a game-winning touchdown.

McDermott did not name his starter for Week 7 should Allen be unable to suit up. His choices are Peterman, who has now thrown nine interceptions in only 79 career attempts, or veteran Derek Anderson, who was just signed last week and was inactive for the Texans game.
