Former Tampa Bay safety Ronde Barber Calls QB E.J. Manuel ‘Scared’

Buffalo Bills v New England Patriots

Former Tampa Bay safety Ronde Barber has been spending time watching his teams’ offseason practices, including the progression of first overall pick Jameis Winston.

The retired safety appeared on CBS Sports Radio to talk about what Winston has done thus far, and even compared him to current Bills QB E.J. Manuel, taking a harsh shot at the Buffalo QB.

Here is what Barber said about the Bills quarterback when comparing him to Winston (from JoeBucsFan.com):

“The guy that preceded him at Florida State, EJ Manuel, I did a couple of games of Buffalo over these two years that I’ve been working at FOX, and he is the other way. He’s timid. He holds the ball. He’s scared to deliver it when he needs to. This guy is the complete opposite, maybe to a detriment at times; he throws a lot of interceptions.”

Manuel has his hands full to work his way under center in 2015, as he’s competing with two other capable QB’s for the Bills in Tyrod Taylor and Matt Cassel.
