Jon Bon Jovi Won’t Move Bills If He Buys Team Says Jaworski

Jon Bon Jovi

Jon Bon Jovi is apparently serious about making a bid for ownership of the Bills, but when he joined a group from Toronto that will vie for the franchise, the whispers were that he’d help move the team to Canada (which ignited some creative protests in Buffalo).

Charles Curtis of the Newark Star Ledger reports that’s not the case, says ex-Eagles quarterback and ESPN analyst Ron Jaworski — the Toronto Sun’s John Kryk reported Jaworski told a radio station that “the rocker has no plans to relocate the Bills from Buffalo, should he wind up buying the team, but that he never has.”

Kryk, who wrote a story earlier this year that said Bon Jovi’s group wanted to move the Bills to Toronto, stood by his report.

“Jaworski’s comments carry weight. He and Bon Jovi from 2004-08 were among the original owners of the Arena Football League’s franchise in Philadelphia, the Soul,” Kryk noted. “So who better than a respected former NFLer originally from the Buffalo area to begin dispersing the message that Bon Jovi and his Toronto group actually intend to keep the team right where it is?”
