It’s a announcement that comes as a shock to some, not so much to others.
New Bills coach Doug Marrone spoke to the Bills official website, and says that the Bills will have a QB competition coming up in 2013.

If Ryan Fitzpatrick loses out on the competition between he and Jackson, one has to wonder if he’s going to be able to stay on the roster, based on the fact that he’s due to make
Fitzpatrick will count $10 million against the Bills’ salary cap in 2013. That’s a lot, but not so much that he will have to be retained.
If Fitzpatrick is on the roster, his cap number for 2013 will be $10.45 million. Fitzpatrick’s base salaries going forward are $4.25 million in 2013, $4.35 million in 2014, $7.2 million in 2015, $8.75 million in 2016 and $9.45 million in 2017.
