Bills Release CB Drayton Florence’s Jason LaCanfora is reporting that the Bills have released cornerback Drayton Florence.

Florence was a starter for the Bills the past three seasons, and last season and in 2010 he started every game, and in those two years had six picks and two touchdowns.

In 3 seasons with the Bills, Florence had 38 passes defensed and seven interceptions. He originally entered the league in 2003 with the Chargers and played his first five seasons in San Diego before spending one season with the Jaguars prior to coming to Buffalo. He has 17 career interceptions.

The Bills addressed the CB position in the draft, selecting South Carolina’s Stephon Gilmore with their top pick, No. 10 overall. They have a lot of depth at the position and will save nearly $4 million (his base salary for 2012) by cutting Florence, who reportedly was paid a $250,000 roster bonus in March.
