Vince Young to Workout for the Bills Wendesday

The Bills may be on the lookout for a backup QB, as Wednesday they will workout former Titans and Eagles QB Vince Young.

Mark Gaughan of The Buffalo News first reported the news about Young. The No. 3 overall pick of the 2006 NFL Draft by the Titans, Young started three games for an injured Michael Vick last season with the Eagles, completing 57.9 percent of 114 pass attempts for 866 yards with four touchdowns and nine picks.

In 61 games during his career, including 50 starts, the two-time Pro Bowler has completed 57.9 percent of 1,304 pass attempts for 8,964 yards with 46 touchdowns and 51 interceptions.

Young, who turns 29 later this month, has not made a free agent visit since his contract with the Eagles expired at the end of the league year.

The Bills are invested in starting quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, signing him to a $52.57 million contract extension last October. Depth at the position is an issue for the Bills, with wide receiver/quarterback Brad Smith and Tyler Thigpen currently backing up Fitzpatrick. Young’s athleticism, and ability to throw on the move, make him a good fit scheme-wise in Chan Gailey’s offense.
