DT Williams Could Miss a Few Weeks with Foot Injury

Bills defensive tackle Kyle Williams missed last Sunday’s 27-24 loss to the Giants with a foot injury and could miss a few weeks following this week’s bye week, Mark Gaughan of The Buffalo News reports.

“It still looks like it’s going to be he’ll miss a game or two, maybe, and then we’ll reevaluate at that point,” Bills head coach Chan Gailey said.

Gailey added that Williams may not be 100 percent for the rest of the season. The Bills host the Washington Redskins in Toronto on October 30 and the New York Jets at Ralph Wilson Stadium on November 6.

A fifth-round pick out of LSU in 2006, Williams was a bright spot on a defense that ranked 24th in total defense, and 32nd against the run in 2010. Williams was added to the Pro Bowl roster after setting career-highs with 77 tackles, including 16 for a loss and 5.5 quarterbacks.

Despite being signed through the 2012 season, the Bills signed Williams to a four-year contract extension worth $30 million in August. Through five games this season, Williams has nine tackles, one for a loss and a team-high four hits on opposing quarterbacks.
