Patriots Lead Bills 21-10 at Halftime

At the conclusion of the first half, it’s business as usual for the New England Patriots as they lead the Buffalo Bills 21-10.

Tom Brady is 16-of-22 for 222 yards with three touchdown passes and one interception.  The Bills haven’t had any answers for New England’s top receiving targets, WR Wes Welker and TE Rob Gronkowski.  Welker has seven catches for 119  yards and a touchdown while Gronkowski has five receptions for 71 yards and two touchdowns.

After falling behind 21-0, the Bills scored 10 answered points in the final 1:56 of the first half.  Ryan Fitzpatrick’s 11-yard TD pass to WR Steve Johnson cut it 21-7.  Then, with New England answering right back and getting down to the Buffalo 13, S Bryan Scott intercepted Brady and the Bills drove 66 yards on 10 plays in just over a minute capped off by Rian Lindell’s 42-yard field goal.

Turnovers were a big story early on in the game.  Fitzpatrick’s second pass of the game was picked off by Kyle Arrington.  Arrington later picked another pass from Fitzpatrick at the New England 35.  Aside from his two picks, Fitzpatrick is 20-of-28 for 224 yards and 1 TD.  Penalties killed the Bills in the first half.  They were flagged seven times for 67 yards in the first half.  Buffalo held New Englad to 35 yards rushing in the first half.
