Almost a Done Deal that Whitner Won’t Be Back in Buffalo

According to Mark Gaughan of the Buffalo News, Bills safety Donte Whitner “seems certain to sign elsewhere”after five seasons.

Whitner should be a hot commodity on the free agent market as he is one of the best run-support safteties in football but the Bills have decided to go cheaper at the position with Jairus Byrd and George Wilson.

At age 26, Whitner should have several good years left in the tank. The Browns have been mentioned as a possible suitor.

He’s one of the best run supporting safeties…huh? He didn’t stop anything while the Bills were last against the run. He sucks, and he can’t cover a tight end to save his life. Good riddance, Donte!
