2010 Look Back – Another OT Loss, This Time in KC 13-10

Today in our 2010 look back, we go back to another tough loss for the Bills, a 13-10 OT loss to the Chiefs, their second OT loss in two weeks.

They had their shots, but at the end of the day, a loss is a loss.

That’s the way the Bills have to feel today after losing on the last play of OT to the Kansas City Chiefs 13-10 at Arrowhead Stadium. The loss puts Buffalo at 0-7.

“It hurts,” coach Chan Gailey said. “You can’t explain it. It makes you sick in your gut. I feel bad for our guys, because they’re trying, they’re playing hard. We’re just not getting it done. I’ve got to teach us to get over the hump.”

Ryan Succop kicked a 35-yard field on the last play of overtime to get the Chiefs to 5-2 on the season. The Bills looked like they won the game in OT as Rian Lindell kicked what would have been a 53-yard game-winner earlier in the overtime.

The kick was nullified because the Chiefs had called time out. His second try was a wobbler in the wind that struck the right upright and gave the Chiefs a shot to go out and win it.
