Week 13: Vikings RB Adrian Peterson Will be Game-Time Decision vs. Bills

After practicing on a very limited basis this week and being a limited participant in practice on Friday, Vikings RB Adrian Peterson will be a game-time decision this afternoon against Buffalo.

In last week’s victory at Washington, Peterson touched the ball just six times for 70 total yards and a rushing touchdown before suffering an ankle injury early in the second quarter.  The result of the injury was a sprained ankle for Peterson, and now the Bills face the prospects of not having to square off with Peterson.

Despite this being the first home game for Vikings interim head coach Leslie Frazier, the timing of Peterson’s injury couldn’t be worse due to the fact he’s slated to attack the NFL’s worst run defense.   Peterson has dealt with injuries before during his four-year career and though his durability was questioned when he came out of Oklahoma, Peterson has missed only two games in four seasons.

Buffalo has held their opponents to under 100 yards rushing only twice in 11 games this season.  On the flip side, they’ve allowed over 200 yards rushing five times thus far in 2010.   The last time Peterson rushed for 100 yards was five games ago, back on Oct. 24 in a 28-24 loss at Green Bay.

It’s safe to say that Peterson won’t be 100 percet for today’s game, but I for one will be very shocked if Peterson does not line up in the Vikings’ backfield.
