Jackson to Stay the Starting RB; Lynch to Spell Him Off the Bench

Marshawn Lynch is back, but what does that mean for Fred Jackson, who is off to a great start in the 2009 season? The Rochester Democrat & Chronicle reports that Jackson will stay in the starting lineup, but Lynch will give him a break:

During his three weeks in exile, suspended Bills running back Marshawn Lynch tried to stay physically fit by working out in Buffalo-area gymnasiums. Naturally, he had some interaction with fans, and as you could imagine a few of them shared their opinions regarding his role with the team. “I’ve been hearing a lot of different mixed things,” Lynch said Monday upon his return to the Buffalo locker room. “Some saying I can stay where I’m at, Fred’s doing a wonderful job. Some telling me they can’t wait until I come back. You hear mixed emotion things from fans. I’m just glad I’ve got (my teammates) on my side to let me know that I was missed.” Still, the Bills need Lynch back in their arsenal, if for no other reason than to give Jackson a break from the pounding he has endured. “He’ll take some of the load off of Freddy and we’ve really loaded Freddy,” said coach Dick Jauron. “Going into the season, even in the offseason when we knew about Marshawn’s suspension, I said we’ve got to be careful with Fred because he’s a really good player and we don’t want to overload him. He had a lot of touches and did a great job.”
