Bills Waive RB Justise Hairston

The Bills official site reports that the team has waived RB Justise Hairston

The Bills made a roster move Tuesday as they waived running back Justise Hairston placing him on the waived/injured list.

Hairston was injured just minutes into the first training camp practice during warmups in a non-contact drill. He was helped to the locker room with an injury that in all likelihood is season ending.

“That was so disappointing for the young man to get hurt in literally a walk-thru,” said head coach Dick Jauron. “It was so freakish, it involved no contact at all. It’s a knee injury, and we think it may be a season ending injury. It’s very, very disappointing for us, and extremely disappointing for the young man.”

Hairston was signed by Buffalo as a free agent on June 8 after impressing in a three-day tryout during rookie minicamp. The former sixth round pick was trying to make a return to the league after being out of football in 2008.

The release of Hairston reduces Buffalo’s roster to 78. The Bills’ three unsigned draft picks currently do not count toward the roster total. Buffalo still has five running backs on the squad.
