Owens Misses Bills Camp for Sixth Annual National Alzheimer’s Gala

There was a lot of hoopla about Terrell Owens not being at the Bills voluntary offseason conditioning program this week, but the new star WR has a good reason for not being there.

Turns out that Owens is in Washington, D.C., attending the sixth annual National Alzheimer’s Gala. He will be getting the Alzheimer’s Association’s first Young Champions Award tonight for raising awareness in the fight against the disease. Owens’ grandmother has Alzheimer’s.

Among the others being honored are French President Nicolas Sarkozy, Democratic Sen. Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia and his wife, Sharon Percy Rockefeller.
