Bills Getting Back to Health and Big Game Sunday vs Chargers

With the bye week by them, it’s time for the Bills to start looking ahead and getting ready for the Chargers this Sunday at Ralph Wilson Stadium. The word is Trent Edwards has been cleared to play, and Roscoe Parrish also may be back in the lineup. The crushing defeat in Arizona 41-17 two weeks ago is long gone, but the Chargers Sunday at home is going to be a stiff test.

The pressure will be on both sides of the ball, as the Chargers bring an up and coming QB to town on Philip Rivers, who showed his promise big time Sunday night when he threw all over the once mighty Patriots. Rivers is tough to stop right now, and is playing at a Pro Bowl level that the Bills are going to have to contend with.

Then there is LaDainian Tomlinson, who is still a dangerous rusher by all means. The Bills are allowing 114.2 yards per game on the ground, and Tomlinson can get that and more. To their advantage is the fact that the coaches started working on the Chargers game plan two days after the Cardinals loss.

As for the return of Edwards, we’ll see early just if he is back to close to 100 percent after the concussion he suffered in Glendale. J.P. Losman is a pro that can come in and play, but at the same time, Edwards is the starter for a reason, and if he’s ready to go, he should get the start and will be expected to play well.

This is a big game for a lot of reasons, but as the team gets back to health, they should be able to get back to the potential that got them to a 4-1 mark five games into the season.
