Bills Rally to Top Jaguars 20-16

Trent Edwards got in an early rhythm and never looked back, leading the Bills to a 20-16 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Edwards completed his first 10 passes and finished 20/25 for 239 yards. Edwards also threw one (game winning) touchdown pass, and did not throw any interceptions for the second straight week.
The Bills jumped out of the gates early this week, as opposed to last week when the offense struggled early. The Bills first drive went for 80 yards, ate up significant clock and culminated in an 11 yard TD run by Marshawn Lynch.

The Bills dominated much of the first half, going into the locker room with a 10-3 lead. But just as the Bills got off to a quick start in the first half, the Jaguars came out firing in the second half.

After an impressive scoring drive culminating in a 2-yard TD run by Maurice Jones-Drew, the Jaguars successfully tried a sneak onside kick. They would end up settling for a field goal and took their first lead of the game at 13-10. The Jaguars would add another field goal on their next drive making it 16-10.

The stage was set for Trent Edwards. Down 6, with 8 minutes left to play at his own 26 yard line. Edwards did not fail to impress, leading the Bills down the field on a 9 play 74 yard drive culminating in a beautiful touchdown strike to rookie James Hardy. With the extra-point the bills took a 17-16 lead. They would hold on to win 20-16, adding a late field goal.

Besides Edwards impressive play, the Bills were helped by second string RB Fred Jackson who had seven receptions for 83 yards. He was utilized as Edwards’ dump off option, and succeeded in making brilliant runs after the catch all game long.

The Bills moved to 2-0 and will face the Oakland Raiders at home next week. Jacksonville, a trendy preseason Super Bowl pick, dropped to 0-2 and will face the Indianapolis Colts next week.
