5 Players Who Need To Step Up in 2008

Dockery

1. Trent Edwards (QB)
Is he as Great As Bill Walsh thinks he is?  We’d better hope so.  The Bills absolutely need better play from the QB position if they have the playoffs on their radar.

2. Derrick Dockery (RG)
The offensive line has to start opening up holes for the running game.  What better player to step up then are high priced free-agent signing from last off-season.

3. Paul Posluszny (ILB)
Now that the rest of the defense seems pretty solid, we will see if Posluszny can benefit from better teammates.  Oh yeah, maybe he’ll stay healthy.

4. Marshawn Lynch (RB)
Marshawn had a great rookie year.  But now, with the bad press he is making off the field, he must find a way to fight through distractions and make more plays in the running game.

5. Donte Whitner (SS)
A former top 10 pick.  It’s his time to shine.  There is no reason he can’t pick off 4 or 5 balls this year now that the Bills have improved the secondary and run defense.

Meaningless Pre-Pre-season Projection:
The Bills will improve on the field, but so far I haven’t seen in Edwards what the Bills have.  An easier schedule will help, but for a team that won a lot of headscratchers last year (see: Washington game, Dolphis away game) don’t expect too much.

Final Record: 8-8
